Increment Numbers Help
How can I restart this number to be 2.1 instead of 1.1 in MS Word? I want each section to have incremented numbers but reset the decimal numbers. So the document starts at 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and then when that section ends the new section of the document should begin at 2.1, 2.2, etc. I found how to reset the count but not reset the count as well as increment the first number Here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/K7bHC.png I realize that this could be done by just renumbering each section but I can't seem to get that to work either because the items are already typed out. EDIT: I am on MS Word 2008 for OS X |

Would this work for you?
Highlight the automatic number you want to change. In the Home ribbon menu, click the down arrow beside the numbering icon (1.2.3. not the multi-level numbering icon) At the bottom of the drop down menu, click set numbering value. In the window by the same name, enter the correct number for your section. |

Do that as in previous post.
But if you want to start with number 2 in your list, follow this link: http://www.mswordhelp.com/2010/07/wo...oft-word-2007/ mike |
