Document Print Problems
Hello Paul,
Can you PLEASE help me again with another problem I encounter trying to print my docx-file ? When I try to print 'All pages' or 'Current page' everything is fine, BUT when I choose 'Custom print' and I select some pages NOTHING comes out !... neither the option 'Print on Both Sides',does NOT work at all ... This very strange and must be specific to my document (58 pages) as ALL the printing options work well with any other word document !!! Do you have any idea what is happening and how I can resolve it ??? Thanks a lot !!! |

That suggests your document has multiple sections, in which case you need to tell Word which sections and/or pages within sections to print. See: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...ment-in-word-2. Although the article is quite old, the principles still apply.

That's what I found also and I tried it out....
p1s1-p4s1 >>> nothing comes out of the printer !!! I found that if I select an aeria (multiple pages) the command 'Print selection' works, but without the pages numbering !!! |

Without actually seeing the problem document, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

Your attachment consists of just four pages, all in one Section (starting at page 56), so it's impossible to know what's happening with printing at the Section level.

The whole document has only 1 section !!!

At what page # does your original start? The attachment starts at page 56. If you want to print a range in a document whose page numbering starts at other than 1, you need to specify the applicable logical page ranges, not the actual ones.

There is just one single section in the whole document !!!
The problem is that I can Print all pages, or Print selection, or Print current page, ... but NOT Custom print ! When I try to do so NOTHING happens , nothing is sent to the printer !!! |

this document has a size of 10.064 Ko and contain 58 pages all in 1 section
The pages are actually numbered 56 till 113 (= fist page, because this document was part of a very large book) but those numbers have to be removed all and the pages will be renumbered when the document is finalized... |

In that case, as I said before, with the current numbering you have to tell Word to start printing at page 56 - or use whatever other page # appears at the bottom of the page(s) you want to print.
