Need help lost text in document
I did something to lose the text in my document and the edit undo function is not bringing it back. I was using a lot of copy and paste functions to add stuff from the internet and other docs that I have, that I was then editing and rewriting for a contract I'm writing. I think I deleted the little symbol that looks like a mini page? (I don't know what it is) I think this may have caused the deleting of my text inside the document (90% of my work is gone). Is there anyway to get it back? I have not closed the document or saved anything, I have done several undo edits to no avail...any help is appreciated!
If there is a video that I can learn from for this type of issue, I'm open to that help as well |

Is there something like 'Previous versions' available on the Mac? It keeps old versions of files, if enabled.
Is your Word set to make a backup copy every X minutes? Quote:

To clarify...
The text inside the document was not visible. I saved while working several times. I did not save after this happened as I didn't want the issue itself to be saved. Search find worked to find words that I could not see. The text was clearly still within the document but I could not see it. Which made me think it was a formatting error? Edit, undo did not work Clipboard didn't work After trying various fixes the entire text on the document disappeared and I gave up. I redid the document and saved every few seconds like crazy as I have a deadline I'm working against. When I have more time I will go watch some tutorials and learn more about formatting. Thanks anyway! |

Perhaps you accidentally formatted the text color to be the same as the background color, typically white. That would match the behavior you describe.

Same issue! After working for more than two hours on a text, suddenly, the page reverted back to an early time! I'm not sure if I pressed anything wrong! I tried the Undo but it only took me to what was even earlier...
I tried searching, looking for backups, and logging through the online OneNote, but nothing worked out... I'm very disappointed and I hope there's a solution to this, or at least know why it happens!
