Background color setting not being applied to whole document
Hi! I'm writing my dissertation and want to change the background color... but the setting I chose aren't being applied to the whole documento. White "paper" background is too bright for me. As you can see in the image, there are many gaps. I check for themes and there are no themes selected. Thanks for any help! Ps: Word for MacOS 2019 |

Without actually seeing the problem document, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

I see no shading at all in your attachment.

Now that's a version with the background color. I hope you can, please, help me!

Now the entire document is shaded, so there is still no indication of what the problem is...

As you can see in the picture... at least here in my system, there are tons of white gaps... mostly in the area where the text is. The first pages ar ok, full background color, but the ones after are full of gaps.

Have you tried doing a print preview?

Yes, I did. The first page shows the letters in white and the background color (black). The other pages show no letters (I presume they became white) and no background color (I presume it kept being white... so that makes the letters disappear), just plain white.
Thanks for your patience! |

On my system, in both print layout view and print preview, I see:
page 1: AGRADECIMENTOS page 2: RESUMO page 3: ABSTRACT page 4: SUMÁRIO - followed by a Table of Contents page 5: INTRODUÇÃO , plus the page # (8). So the issue doesn't seem to be with the document but with either your Office installation or your Mac itself. I don't use a Mac, though, so I can't help you with resolving either of those issues.

In your windows system, when you try to apply background color in the archive, are there any white gaps like the picture? It's all ok?
Maybe the problem is my system or the MacOS version of Word. |

Changing the page background on your document gives a uniform colouring, with no gaps.
Which is essentially what I suggested in my previous reply, except that I suggested it may not be so much as the MacOS version of Word but your particular MacOS Word installation.
