Default How do I copy text from wxcel and paste to word , eliminating lines but keeping columns aligned?

How do I copy text from excel and paste to word , eliminating lines but keeping columns aligned? I used to do this , but it was something that just was an option under paste, but now it will not do this, no option to do it anymore.
I need to copy about 4 columns from excel, paste it into word. The pasted copy needs to have no grid lines, but keep the alignment of the excel format.

Thank you for any info on this matter.

You can copy & paste from Excel into Word. The default paste is as a Word table - which will maintain alignments, etc. Whether any borders or gridlines appear depend on how you format the table and whether you have the 'show gridlines' table option checked, respectively.

I just tried it again, but it still does the same thing. It copies the table lines. The last paste option is text only still, but if that one is used, the columns in the table do not stay aligned. Something has changed on word. There used to be an option of paste that would do exactly what I want to do. I used it last year, but I cant find out where the option for it is now.

Simply copying/pasting a range from Excel to Word doesn't add any borders that weren't already present in Excel. What you get is a table with whatever borders were already there. If you're seeing gridlines, that's because you have Word configured to show them. You can toggle them on/off by clicking anywhere in the table and choosing Table Tools|Layout>View Gridlines.

In Word, click File > Print to see if you are actually dealing with borders. If you are, you can remove them from the Borders and Shading dialog box. Select the table and then click the arrow on the border button in the Paragraph group on the Home tab, and then click Borders and Shading. In the dialog box, you can remove borders by clicking them in the preview.
