Once again, that implies the content isn't as you described... For example, perhaps there's a space before 'inaudible'

Without the 'use wildcards' option checked, such a Find could only ever find strings that were literally '\[<*> [0-9]@:[0-9]@\]'! I doubt you have any such strings and that any were found.

Again, that is not what you described in post #1, where your post implied the presence of a single word. I suspect, too, that [wordguess 12:34] is either [ wordguess 12:34] or [word guess 12:34]; otherwise it would have been found.

Unless you describe accurately what you're dealing with, all you're leaving us with is a guessing game no-one here is interested in playing.

[voices overlap 07:21]

...and so on.
In which case, unless you messed up the Replace part and/or the default highlighting, they'd all be highlighted.

Default Try this

For anyone else curious about this - as I was - I have just worked out an easy way to do this. I have just finished a massive transcript and also wanted to highlight the timestamps, e.g. "The quick brown fox [0:04:10] lazy dog, but I only want the numbers highlighted. This is how I did it -
A simple Search and Replace:

Find: ^#:^#^#:^#^#
Replace with ^&
Format: Highlight

And then for extra efficiency, I've made it a macro to run at the end of of my document.
