Default No MS Word "Recent Documents" from Start Menu

Hi Guys....

Windows 7 running MS Word 2010.

Clicking the Start menu and hovering over Microsoft Word 2010 doesn't show "Recent" entries (and there are some!) in the same way that MS Excel does (see the attached screenshots).

I can't find a setting to enable/disable Recents in Word: all I can find on the web is references to clearing/modifying/changing the quantity of Recents.

The Screenshots show Excel from the Start menu, Word from the Start Menu, and proof that Word has Recents, even though they aren't on the Start Menu.

This is starting to really affect me: can any kind soul help???
