Floating notes
Hi all, I am running an older version of word on an old PC and trying write an assignment. What I an trying to do us have the assignment criteria in boxes off the page in the blue screen area of the large monitor. i want them to be visible all the time when I am writing, and as I scroll up and down through the assignment Normally I would just use sticky notes, but this old machine doesn't have them and is not connected to the internet. I use it as a back up for my work mostly but need to work on it today. Any ideas how I can achieve this. To recap, I want to position text off the page, but not linked to a particular section as with a comment box, but actually visible on the screen continuously Thanks |

I assume you are using Windows XP?
You can download Simple Sticky Notes from here: https://www.simplestickynotes.com/download/ Once installed, you’ll see a Desktop shortcut to use and you’ll have icon located in the Notification area to use also for new notes/settings etc. (right click) Once a note has been started, r/clicking in the note allows font size/colour etc to be changed. |

If you can’t download the Simply Sticky Notes app (there are others) on your phone and transfer to the PC using say a USB cable and then install, an option as you mention a large screen, is to create a new Notepad document on your Desktop, then resize it so it covers a suitable area on the left/right side of the screen.
Then open Word and Restore Down/resize the window so the Notepad window can be seen and referred to/text added to, on a side of your choice. Note: There are ways to make a Window - say a Notepad Window, stay on on Top (float) when you type into Word but a third partry program would need to be downloaded to do that in Vista. |
