Is it possible to create a Style that leaves bold/color as is?
Is there a way to make a Style ignore color/bolding currently in the document?
I have found if a smaller portion of the paragraph has different color/bolding than the Style applied, it is usually left that way. Is there a way to make the Style leave bold/color as is all the time regardless of how much of the paragraph has bold/color? |

Quick answer: No. If more than half of a paragraph has direct formatting applied and then a paragraph style is applied to it, the direct formatting will be overwritten. |

That's what I thought you'd say. But, I was hoping I was wrong. Thank you for your time

If you apply the bold formatting via a character style, it won't be removed when a paragraph style is being (re-)applied to the paragraph, even if the bold text range is larger than 50% of the paragraph.

In most Word document themes, the character style "Strong" applies Bold formatting.
The character style "Emphasis" applies Italic formatting. ' |
