typing diacritic characters with autocorrect
I would like to be able to touch type Polish diacritics. I have Polish language pack with spelling etc., but it requires pressing right Alt while holding it pressed the letter you wish to be with a diacritic mark. It works for letters on the left of the key board. But it is awkward for ó, ł, and ń. I thought I can use autocorrect to do it. However, it requires typing space immediately after the character to be diacritic. E.g., typing ‘;o’ for ó. But typing ‘g;ora ’ does not produce ‘góra’ (a mountain in Polish). One would need to type space immediately after the o, and then a backspace, to finish with ‘ra’ to get góra. This is as awkward as the right Alt method.
I would like to use it in Word and Outlook, if possible. ‘;’ is a good character to combine with others because it is almost always followed by space in normal texts. Thus my question: how to make ;o to produce ó without typing a space after the o? I used to do things using VBA and VB years ago so I can perhaps refresh it a bit if the solution requires some coding. On my PC I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit and Office 2010 Pro. |
