Word 2003 - hiding text with hidden font
As some will know it is possible to hide the text of a doument by highlighting it and check the box "hidden" in Font.
I do that often, but there is one danger: apparently you must leave at least one word in order to recover the text. If I hide all text, how do I get it back? qim Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 04-01-2019 at 08:36 AM. Reason: Mark as solved |

You could press the Ctrl + A keys to select all of the text, then open the Font dialog box and uncheck ‘Hidden’ to reveal all the previously hidden text.

Hi Moonshine
but that is the actual problem: how can Ctrl A highlight any text if ALL text has been hidden? |

The text remains a part of the document, but it doesn’t appear unless you choose to display it.
Have you tried it out for yourself? If there is hidden text, you could also go to File > Options > Display > 'Always show these formatting marks on the screen' > Hidden text > OK. |

Apologies for the wrong information, I missed the 2003 version.
The equivalent to what's showing in post No 4 would be: Tools > Options View > Formatting marks: At least you have know how to view hidden text now in 2003. |
