Blank page after section break

I am getting a blank page after a section break. It has to do with odd/even sections. i understand is has to do with Word placing Odd sections on the right hand side of the document.
Is there a way to keep the blank page from occurring.

I've tried fixing it by changing the Odd section to an Even section, and that corrects the blank page issue but then the pagination is off, the "Corrected" section displays page ii, not page i.

Would appreciate any help in solving this issue.
