Looking for help with creating sequential serial number on one page
I build guitars for as a hobby and want to keep track of who has what by using serial numbers printed on water slide paper and then affixed to the back of the headstock. I've attached a word document with what I have in mind and was wondering whether someone has either something already or can tell how to go about doing it.
I've found a few types already but unfortunately, couldn't get them to work at all. I have no experience in using macros and the like and have no idea about where to start. I've attached what I have in mind... SMG Serial Number Sheet.docx Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

The simplest approach would be to use an Excel worksheet formatted with the desired layout. See the attached workbook, which is already formatted for 3 pages of labels.
Note the formula used in A1. Once you've used up the existing 3 pages of labels, you can either: • use Find/Replace to change the 1500 to 1680 for all cells, or • copy the existing columns and paste them to the right the current ones. Either approach will give you a new set of labels to work with.

Copy of SMG Serial #s.xlsx
4Ener Macrpods excel sheet is great. I've added some of the stuff I track/would track when I finally start back working on guitars again. I'm currently setting up to make up Stave style drums. Waterslides can be submitted to Bedlam in any format. https://www.bedlamcreations.com/requ...e-decal-quote/ |

OK, folks
I do have one problem... I want to get the spreadsheet to a point where I can copy and paste to Word and print a single sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 waterslide paper in order to get about 45 numbers on the sheet. When I try to copy and paste the 45 cells, it gives one page and 15th line on a second page. I've tried rescaling the print etc... but don't know what I'm doing with Excel anymore, I've used it in over 20 years and am growing frustrated..... I've likely lost a few brain cells over that time which could be the issue. As before, any help would be appreciated and I've attached the excel files which I'm using now....... |

Instead of trying to copy and paste to Word, adjust the Excel cell dimensions and margins to suit.

Think I tried that, but it didn't work. It could also be that I don't know what I am doing with Excel, it doesn't look like the same product I was using 20 some years ago. If you could help me out here, that would be great...

You're going to have to provide rather more detail than "it didn't work".

Sorry about that, I got something working now. It's not quite what I wanted, but it will certainly do for now.
Thanks again..... |
