Default Cross-reference

Hi

I am creating a contract template in word 2016 and wish to insert a cross-references.

All clauses are 'heading 1' and contains a number + a title. E.g. "6 Confidentiality" or "7 Publication".

In a clause I have the following wording: "Except if caused by breach of the confidentiality obligation in clause 6...".

Now, I wish to insert a cross-reference in clause 6 but every time I try it takes the name 'confidentiality', but not the number. So the line would say: ""Except if caused by breach of the confidentiality obligation in clause 6 Confidentiality".

Is it possible to only reference the number and still keep the title? So 'Confidentiality' does not appear when inserting a cross-reference. So if I insert a new clause 2 and the clause on confidentiality is now clause 7, it is automatically updated to say "Except if caused by breach of the confidentiality obligation in clause 7...".

Hope that made sense and thank you in advance.

Br.

If the text "Confidentiality" is part of the number format, it will be reflected in the cross-reference, by default.

What you can do is add the \t switch to the REF (cross-reference) field.
