Exclamation Numbers Missing-HELP!

Hey all...

I'm experiencing a problem with Microsoft Office Word 2003. I have a very large file filled with numbers (I've used this file for over a year and have been adding to it). Recently, I opened this file and every number has been replaced with a degree symbol. This is rather devastating as all of my work seems to be wasted... does anyone know how to reverse this?? I have used the file in both 2003 and 2007 versions, but degree signs show up in both, so I don't think it's a formatting issue.

Any help you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated!
