Default Why +Body with theme switching disabled?

At work, we often make a copy of a master template and then customize the copy for the needs of the specific job. I keep theme switching disabled in our master (and copies), which I thought disabled themes altogether. Our paragraph styles are all custom.
I was asked to change the font for all styles for one project that's just rampling up, from Arial to Calibri. When I later opened the template again to make some additional changes, I kept finding +Body instead of Calibri in the font field of the font dialogue box. I find this very frsutrating; I want to see the font name there; this has not previously been a problem.
We use Office 365 on a company network, if that makes a difference; the templates from which I am working are stored on my local machine.
Thanks.

Even with theme switching disabled, every document/template uses a theme and has +body and +heading fonts as well as theme colors.

In the font list, the theme fonts will show up with heading or body in parentheses after them.

i.e., Calibri (Heading) Cambria (Body) instead of Calibri and Cambria.

You are not required to use those but they are built into built-in styles. You can modify the styles to use the actual fonts.

Is this not what you are experiencing?

Default Not quite

Iappreciate your reply; I do see that in the font list, and that clears up that matter. However, what I am seeing in the font field above the list is just +Body when I select Font from teh menu in the Modify Style dialogue; perhaps I wasn;t clear about this in my post. Please see attachment.

Your attachment won't open here.

+Body and +Heading will be in the dialog, always.
You do not have to pick those.

Charles, thank you. Her's a PDF; maybe that will open. I'm not sure what you mean by "you don;t have to pick those." I don;t want to pick them; I want the real font name to show, and I don't recall not seeing it after setting it in a style previously. Am I just grossly mistaken on this? (Not the first time, if so...)

That's been there in the last several versions of Word, perhaps since 2007. The real fonts are below and if chosen you are not on a theme font. These are not exactly theme fonts, they are the "default fonts" which is different from the default paragraph font.

You should look into Quick Style Sets or using a macro if you are trying to change the styles for numerous templates.

You could set a specific font as the default for your template. That way, formatting wouldn't be affected if someone change the theme font.
