Default When comparing an original and revised word document, I am getting an unusual output compared doc

Normally, when I compare two word docs, it spits out a "clean redline" that I can make comments on, etc.

With this specific issue when comparing these specific docs, I cannot see comments. I have attempted changing views and playing around with every tab possible. It doesn't Is there anything I am missing here? I have attached an example of what I am describing.
Attached Files
File Type: docx Original Doc.docx (16.8 KB, 9 views)
File Type: docx Revised Doc.docx (19.9 KB, 8 views)
File Type: docx Compared Doc.docx (24.0 KB, 9 views)

Neither your original nor revised docs contain comments either so I wouldn't expect comments in the compared doc. What makes you think there should be comments in the compared doc?

However, there seems to be some corruption in the Compared Doc because I can't display it in Print View (where I normally see the comment balloons). It keeps flipping the view back to Draft every time I change to Print Layout. Other views seem happy enough to display. If I accept (or reject) all revisions then I can go to Print Layout view but there are still no comments in the document.

Yes! It's getting stuck in draft and I cannot get back into Print View. This doc was converted from PDF to Word, which is likely the origin of corruption. Is there anything I can do to clean up the corruption? I have someone retyping, but there has to be an easier way. Thanks, Jake

The corruption is not in either of your source docs. Are you saying the comparison was done on PDFs using Adobe Acrobat's compare documents?

Turn off the Formatting markups:

Go to the Review tab, click the Show Mark up button and de-select Formatting.

Then go to the View tab and click Print Layout.
