Type aaa, replace it with bbb automatically
I think I stumbled across how to do this in Word Options but I can't find it now! And a google did not provide an answer that works. I am seeking a shortcut way or autotext way to do this... replace a short string with another one. Say if I want to be able to type "aaa" and have it automatically replace that with "bbb" or whatever string I want. How do I do this? I would rather not have to strike Enter to get it to invoke if that means it is going to create a carriage return, 'cause that will cause more key strokes to fix that. You can do this by creating an AutoCorrect entry. Click File | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options and go to the AutoCorrect tab.
In the "Replace" box, type the string you want to be replaced as you type. In the "With" box, type the desired replacement. Click the Add button. AutoCorrect will be triggered as you press the SpaceBar in Word.
