Default Can't navigate to entries in table of contents

Hello,
I cannot navigate to entires in my table of contents in my word document. The CTRL-CLICK option doesnt work. I just get a message saying that "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer, please contact your administrator".
The thing is, i dont have an administrator, i own this computer.
Do you know how to solve this?

I always used to be able to do this with no problem, why has it now changed?

Turn on view of your Navigation Pane. Does that work?

The Navigation Pane is a great tool and works as a workaround while you figure things out. You can turn it on under the View tab.

Otherwise, it is an aspect of Find. It actually has three tabs:
  • Headings
  • Pages
  • (Find) Results
By default, it displays the first three levels. You can adjust that up or down each time it is opened.
