Relative link (same folder) from Excel cell into Word file
Hello, I have prepared with Office a tool that should enable the configuraiton, pricing and offer preperation for a product. It consists of an Excel- and Word-file and should enable semi-automatic offer creation. The product is configured in an Excel-file and thereby the price determined. After saving this file, a Word-File is opened with fixed offer texts and by updating all link-fields in this Word-file (CTRL+A and F9) all information should be updated from the Excel configuration file.
During an international training we have found out that this tool works only on German computers (we had problems for USA, CN, UK, FR, ...). The Problem lies in the relative linking of Excel and Word files that are in the same folder ("link-broken" message after update of fileds). I suspect that the relative link syntax is different in other countries. The following syntax worked on the German computers: {LINK Excel.Sheet.12 ./offerPreperationTool.xlsx xustomerData! Z6S4 \ f 4 \ r} If you had a solution to this problem for other countries, I'd love it! Many Thanks in advance!! Regards, Stephan |
