Does the problem occur in a specific document, only?

If you see it in multiple documents, try starting Word in Safe mode and see if that works around the problem (temporarily). See https://support.office.com/en-us/art...3-528af4f7ac72 for more.

Note that Safe mode is for troubleshooting; you are not supposed to run Word in that mode permanently.
