Default Automatic bibliography sources counting

Hello !

My question is: is it possible to implement automatic counting of bibliography sources when it is autogenerated ({bibliography} field)?

The purpose is to have field somewhere in the document, that would contain number of sources and could be automatically updated when number of sources changes.

For example for counting pictures and tables I always use combination of {SEQ Picture/Table} and {REF} fields , but how to apply it to bibliography?

If field codes cant be used in such situation, please point me to another appropriate Word mechanism.
Thanks!

It sounds like you are using fields instead of the actual Citations & Bibliography tool in the References Ribbon tab.

Some of the styles you can apply to citations autonumber the entries.

One would use a BIBLIOGRAPHY field anywhere for other than a bibliography, and the output format for such a bibliography is governed entirely by the chosen referencing format. Anywhere else in the document you might use a CITATION field. There is nothing you can add to a BIBLIOGRAPHY field that will enable a field somewhere else in the document to count the bibliography references, or to enumerate them.
