Default Tabbed Dates with Titles and Bullet Points underneath

Hi all,

I'm trying to redo my CV, my sister has done something on her CV that I'd love to do on mine, but she was using Mac Office applications.

Basically, I want two columns of text; in the left I want the dates of the employments I've had before. In the right (with very little spacing with the left column) I want the role I had. Underneath the second column I want bullet points. If you imagine an excel grid I'd want text in cells A1, B1, B2, B3, B4... etc.

I know I can set columns and indent the left column so text goes as far right as possible, and as far left for the right hand column to eliminate all spacing. My issue is this: I want to set the split between the two columns to be more left than the default, and this is represented on the ruler as an unmovable grey box.

Can I override this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
