In the attached screenshot on can see that the attached document has some problems with the right hand side spacing.

I have modified the the output to show all of the formatting symbols.

Yet none of them show why the paragraph is so indented on the line line on, but not on the third line.

How can I fix this. i just want normal indentation, not what you see here.

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Lou,

You probably need to invest some time learning how to set up styles. Every paragraph has a style and in that style you set up the attributes you desire.

Your document illustrates two paragraphs, both left aligned. The second paragraph has a hanging indent. The first doesn't. There is no issue I can see with the right margin. The text wraps according to the amount of space available.

If you want them the same, place the cursor anywhere in the first paragraph. Press Ctrl+shift+C. Now highlight the second paragraph and press Ctrl+Shift+V. The formatting should now be the same.

Displaying the ruler can help you figure out what is going on.


So can Shift+F1.
