MS Word has stopped working
I have Word 2010. When I open a new blank document and try to paste some text into it (copied from an email), I get an error message "Microsoft Word has stopped working", and then I have to close Word. I tried rebooting the computer but it doesn't solve the problem.
I have the original DVD with MS Office 2010. Can I just replace Word? Can I install it over the existing version, or do I have to uninstall it first? |

Try doing a Repair. It is on the same Control Panel as Install/Uninstall and may read "Change."

Please update your user profile. It presently says you're using Office 2007 on Windows XP.

How do I update my profile? I don't see that option anywhere on the Forum pages.

MS Word has stopped working
Apparently there was a problem with the text from the email that I was trying to paste into Word. I tried it with text from another Word document and it worked fine.
So problem solved. |
