Table of Contents ERROR - Help!
Hey guys!
I am formatting a book in word and when I enter the table of contents, some of the contents and their corresponding pages go way outside the margins. On the even pages, it actually goes right off the page. I can't figure out how to fix this one. I've tried deleting then re-inserting it but no luck. I've taken a screenshot so you can see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9f1718150j...Screenshot.png Also, here is the file you can see and troubleshoot. (I've removed most of the book contents but kept the chapter headings so you can play around with it.) Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Mark |

For the TOC styles you have either an incorrectly set right indent or an incorrectly set tab stop.

Your TOC 1 Style has a right-aligned tab-stop set at 12.05cm (4.74in). Reset that to 9.65cm (3.8in) so it aligns with your right margin and apply a 0.635 (0.25in) right indent so the text wraps (if required) before running into the page #s.
