Default Word - TOC indents

Hi all,

I have a doc where i have the main TOC and in each chapter a have a TOC of that chapter (don't know if there is only one way or not i did it with bookmarks).

In the main TOC i have 2 columns.
In the TOC of each chapter i have 1 column (show show level 1-2).

Problem:
When i use indents in the ruler to configure TOC on chapter it affects the main TOC getting all unreadable.

I tried to create a section for the TOC chapter with no success.

How can i apply indents in TOC chapter without affecting the main one?

Thanks,
Carlos

A Table of Contents employs TOC Styles. If you change the definitions of a TOC Style (e.g. by changing indents), it affects all instances of that Style throughout the document, just as changing any other Style affects all instances of that Style throughout the document.

Is it possible to select different set of Styles so the change don't affect the main one?
Any solution that you can provide?

Thanks,

No, that is not possible.

A possible workaround is to have your 'main' Table of Contents in a separate document, with its own TOC Styles, and link that Table of Contents to your current document's headings via an RD field, for which see: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...1-499e778dd806
