Default How do I paste items in the order they were copied, not the order the are listed?

Hello

How do I paste items in the order they were copied to the clipboard, not the order they are listed?

For example:

apple

orange
mango

While holding down CTRL, I first highlight apple, then mango, then orange. Now all 3 are highlighted and I copy. I want this when I paste:

apple
mango
orange

This was how my prior version of Word handled these, however since my employer switched to office 2016 it's not doing it that way. Now it just pastes them in the order they are listed originally, meaning a paste now looks like the original list.

Thanks!

Miz

This was apparently a change that came with the new text rendering engine in Word 2013. I hadn't noticed.

Some of these changes can be handled by operating in "compatibility mode." This does not appear to be one of them.

So I guess there's no way to get copy and paste to work this way again?

Not that I know of.

Someone else may know more than I do. Happens every day!

They may fix it.

You may need to move to using the 'Spike'

Spike used to remove the elements as you add to Spike so it might not suit the OP's purpose.

The OP may not know the Spike exists.

The article to which I linked explains the process for using the Spike to copy only.
