Which is your operating system? Your profile says Windows 10.
In Windows 10, it works fine on my computer. I have filename extensions displayed as well. I do not know that this makes a difference. 00 deleteme 1.png
Which font are you using? What happens if you start Word in safe mode? Does the same thing happen? Open Office apps in safe mode on a Windows PC - Microsoft Office
