How can I see links of incorporated images in word2013?
Good morning everyone. I'm a new member of the forum and I'm writing from Italy.
I have a question about format docx of word 2013. I usually fill my documents with many and many images and all of them are linked to our server. the images are in eps format and since the word will not support them for a long time now I'm converting them all to png (but this is another story). When I do the operation, always in word 2013 but on a file with the extension .doc, going on the image and pressing shift F9 I can see the network path of the image while if the document is in .docx format does not allow me to use this combination of keys when I have selected the linked image. Someone can explain me why and if there is a way to se the link also in docx documents? Thanks in advance, Andrea. |

In Word 2016 you can go to the File tab and down the bottom on the right side there is a little line that says "Edit Links to Files". You can click on that and it summarises all the links (including cross-references). If you selected the linked graphic before going there it should be selected in the list. You can find the command with the same name if you wanted to add it to your QAT or do a keyboard shortcut for it.
I think this is the same in Word 2013.

yes it's the same in word 2013 but for me is not a helpful function. I prefer the "old" way in wich I can modifiy, for example by the function "search" and "change/modify", multiple links of linked images. I do not know if I have explained myself.
my english is not as good as I would like. |

To use the 'old' method, you need to first save the document in the 'old' doc format.

Your English is molto meglio than my Italian and I lived in Torino for a year.
If you want to see the field links (without saving to doc format) you can use an IncludePicture field eg {INCLUDEPICTURE "C:\\Users\\mrmiyagi\\Documents\\Logos\\MyLogo.jpg " }

Hi Andrew,
The problem remains, though, that once a docx/m file with an INCLUDEPICTURE field is saved, the field disappears and remains resolutely inaccessible.

You can add the Edit Links to Files command to the Quick Access Toolbar (if that helps).
