Default PageBreak Style / Line Spacing

Can I set the paragraph formatting for page breaks in the Normal template?

I would like the paragraph associated with page breaks to take up minimal space, with a line spacing rule of Exactly, and a line spacing of 0.7 points.

What I've noticed: When I type Ctrl-Enter to insert a page break, the line spacing rule on the paragraph changes Exactly to Multiple. Why does this happen? Can I control this?

Of themselves, manual page breaks have no dimension. Your issue seems to be that you've over-ridden a Style definition with direct formatting and the page breaks are applying the Style defaults.

I may have done that, though I'm not sure. There seems to be some issue with the style defined as "Normal", and the defaults that can be set in the Manage Styles --> Set Defaults dialog (wdDialogStyleManagement). Is there a way to set the defaults in that dialog in VBA?

Can it be done in vba? Almost certainly.
Why bother. Use a template that has the settings you want.

I don't know if the settings on the Set Defaults tab of the Manage Styles dialog box have VBA equivalents, but, as Charles pointed out, you don't have to use VBA. It is simple enough to modify the defaults in the user interface.

Another option is QuickStyle Sets which can quickly be applied to existing documents.
