Creating a time bound document
Hi,
I have a site where people can download information. I would like to create word, powerpoint documents that would lock itself after a certain period of time. Rajesh |

Unless you employ a macro to do the locking, what you want isn't possible - and it's easily circumvented by the user choosing to not run the macro or by running another macro that reverses the action.

Thank you
Thank you for the response.
I know PDF has a feature, where the document locks itself after a certain time frame.... wondering if the Office suite has similar feature as well |

To some extent, you could provide some prevention by requiring the user to allow macros to view your content. That is, the content is not present unless created by the macro. This would still be relatively easy to circumvent. Also, once the macro created the content, the user could save it.
I know that I would not open such a document and allow the macro to run. |
