Default Word2010 Text Anchor - How To Do It?

For someone maybe a trivial thing, but I cannot figure out how to anchor text or an object on the page that is under the cursor. I.e. I have a piece of text that I still need to have in the same place (something like a footer but not on every page) so it doesn't move down when writing over. See attached sshot. When I choose to wrap the text anyway, before, after, the same is done when writing at the top. If it's in a Word manual, I don't know how to find it. "Wrapping the text" does not solve it somehow.
thanks for any advice.

Peter.

Use a text box or frame. Anchor that text box to the first paragraph on the page and position it using the dialog box to be at a certain distance from the bottom of the page. Set it to have text wrap around it.

So long as you do not move your first paragraph to a different page, it will stay where you want.

Frames and Textboxes in Microsoft Word

Once you have a textbox inserted, use the Wrap Text option on the contexual ribbon tab.

That gets you the Layout options dialog.

The dialog box shown above gives the result show below with a text box. Note, you can turn off the border on the textbox. Note the anchor shown for the first paragraph. That is where Word thinks your text box is.

You are welcome, Peter.
Works that way in Word 2000, too; you just have to get to the dialog a different way.
