I have a recently new MacBook Air, was using Word for Mac 2011, no problems.
Newly installed 64 bit Word 2016 for Mac. Using an Epson XP 340, print instruction will not allow duplex printing and no grayscale option. Printer has 64 bit connection.
No solution in printer preferences. No obvious solutions in Word preferences.
Appreciate any assistance.

Epson XP-340 looks like it doesn't have a paper-handling capability to do double-siding in one pass so the best you could do is print all the odd pages and then put those pages back in the input tray and print all the even pages (in reverse order?). Sometimes the printer driver presents this as a choosable option but if it doesn't then you can tell Word to do this with two separate print commands.

Greyscale is another option that 'should' be available to you as the printer specs give a different speed for black and white vs colour printing. Are you sure there is not black and white print option?

I would go onto the Epson website and download the latest print drivers to suit your device on a Mac. The disk that came with the printer may not be the latest available driver.

Thank you Guessed. I should have checked, you're correct,the Epson XP340 does not have duplex nor greyscale capability. Otherwise, I'm happy with it (so far...)
The reviews on Amazon bag it. I bought it as I fell out of love with Canon's newer products. It's true,you get what you pay for !

I'm sure the printer is fine. It is a big step up to get a printer with a paper handling tray to do double-siding in one pass. Typically you only see this on laser printers for offices.

You should be able to find black and white/greyscale printing option though. The printer will be able to do that regardless of its price point.
