Theoretically, it is possible by examining the xml files contained in the docx package. For instance you could see the word/fontTable.xml file in there. It appears to include fonts that are included in styles (eg symbol or wingding fonts used in a bulleted style) even though that style is not applied to any of the content in the document.

There is also a Font Substitution command that can be added to the interface but it only shows a list of the fonts in your document that are NOT installed on your machine.

I would suggest you save the document to PDF and then use Acrobat Reader to go to File > Properties > Fonts and look at the list there. I think that is the closest you will get without a macro.

Thank you for responses coming from Wisconsin and Australia (what a trip!).
I will test the suggestion with .pdf and Html, and keep you informed, but in few days, because I'll take a hike in Britanny (a lovely place)..
