Default How do I select all blank line paragraphs in a doc?

I've got Word 2010 and also 2016. Often, for lengthy texts I copy/paste into Word from online plain text documents or from html website sections, I need to do this:

I want to select all blank lines in the doc and then reduce the vertical spacing, above and below of the blank lines (I presume, by reducing the fontsize of the blank lines, or, by reducing the interline spacing for the blank lines?). With "show formatting marks" turned on, a blank line appears as a single paragraph mark by itself. Non-blank lines appear as text followed by the paragraph mark at the end of each line (i.e. from the sources I copy/paste from, Word imports each line as a separate paragraph.)

Using ADVANCED FIND, I can easily select all Paragraph Marks in the doc (which appear at the end of every line, blank or not), but I don't see a way to select only the blank lines paragraphs.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Replace ^p^p with ^p.

See Cleaning up text pasted from emails or Web sites.

BTW, one post is enough.

Yes, I saw MacroPod's sticky thread shortly after I submitted my question. Very useful!
In my case I don't want to remove the blank lines, but, rather, make them about 1/2line, so that I can save paper when printing when the docs have lots of blank lines, but still see the intended breaks. So what worked for me was to search for ^p^p as you say, and then replace with Format->Font->Size 5pt. (My doc was 10pt text) The blank lines then appeared about 1/2 as tall. Thanks, Charles.

What would be far better would be to use paragraph formatting of space before or space after so that there is only one Word paragraph per logical paragraph.

I warmly second this: maintain a maximum of logical structure in your document, an approach which will also make formatting changes simpler. fwiw, I usually bounce multi-line paragraphs through a text editor first; Notepad++, for example, with Edit > Line operations > Join lines.
