Making Cross-Reference from Captions
I have created several Captions for images, equations and tables. Their numbers are based on Headings' Numbers. I need to reference to these Captions in document. What I do is to make a Bookmark of Captions and then insert their numbers in the document via Cross-Referecing tool (Insert>Cross-reference). I do not know if Word has this ability to Cross-Referece Captions without making Bookmark from those Captions or another easier way to reference to Captions in the context.

Try without adding any bookmarks.
Cross-reference to the table, figure or equation using Insert > Cross-Reference. Complex Documents - Cross-References (See #10.) It is built into Word if you used Insert > Caption to create your captions. |
