![]() Is there a way to set the default settings so that when I open an existing Word document, the Markup box under the Review Tab comes up to "No Markup" automatically? I am a contract tech writer and a client asked for this, but I've not done this before. THANKS!! |

AFAIK, this could only be done using a macro in the document. Such a macro is less than effective because many sites will not run macros.
This is not a document setting and, for that matter, I do not believe it is an application setting. I believe there is a reason documents open showing markup. That is, to reduce the likelihood that embarrassing information is hidden in a document distributed to others. |

Thanks for the tip! I will pass this on to the customer who requested the change.

Note that you can easily create a version of the document without markup. One way would be to create a copy where you accept all changes and delete comments. Another way would be to create a separate PDF version without the markup included.
