Creating a Text Entry That Holds a Property and Can Be Referenced Elsewhere
I think this can be done using developer tools. I have a document wherein the title will have a number entered, and the title will always be "Design Note ####". Elsewhere in the document, I want that number to be referenced so it's always the same elsewhere in the doc. I think there's a way to create an entry box that the user edits (so the user will edit the #### in the title) and that entry box will have a reference property.
I'm happy to follow a set of solutions if someone can simply point me in the right direction. It's just not easy to find the right search terms for this problem. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 01-17-2018 at 07:35 AM. Reason: Mark as solved |

This one doesn't even take the Developer Tab.
You can use QuickParts > Document Property. See Repeating Data Using Document Properties Content Controls and Other Mapped Content Controls. |
