Increase the height of highlight
As seen in the attached Word template, there is a paragraph of text, with each line highlighted in grey. There appears to be some magic with borders going on, as the height of the highlight is more than the height when highlighting is done normally. I prefer the height as shown in the template, but the letter 'g' is slightly obscured by the grey highlight.
Is there anyway to go about ensuring that 'g' is fully visible ? Much thanks ! |

Hi,
The letter descenders in the g are a function of both the font you are using and the setting for exact line height. The line height is paragraph formatting applied as direct formatting. You need to change the line height. Experiment. See below. The "highlighting" is shading applied to text. It is applied using the linked style "Highlighting with Gray" applied as a character style. Shading applied to text just goes with the shaded text. Shading applied to paragraphs goes from left to right indent. The proofing language for the normal style in this is French. That is why "is," "shading," and "highlighting" show up as misspelled in one line. The version of your document shown in the screenshot is attached. This is not a template. It is a document. This distinction is important in Word. Most resumes are formatted using Tables. See Word's Reveal Formatting Codes. If Word skills are a part of your job, I would strongly recommend viewing the following series of short pages. Basic Concepts of Microsoft Word - from Shauna Kelly If not, the resume looks good. It would be a real pain to edit, though. If I were supplying this as a template, I would completely restructure it. The version of your document with the markings shown in the first screenshot is attached. |
