I'm writing a story and needed to indent some dialogue so I changed the margins on the ruler and now want to revert back to the original ruler format but the text keeps indenting to the shortened margins on both sides of the ruler. How do I get my default ruler back? Thanks for any help.

You can revert to the default indent by clicking in the paragraph and pressing Ctrl+Q.
If that does not work, perhaps you changed the margins rather than the indents? The left indent marker is a small square and the right indent marker is a triangle. See screen shot.
