Word is switching sections upon printing/PDF

Hello,

I have a very long Word doc (a legal contract) with legacy template fields and a somewhat custom multilevel numbering sequence. The document is 166 pages and nearly 60,000 words.

When I first open the document, it looks great. However, when I go to print it, it shows reference errors and strangely switches sections around. The same happens when I try and convert it to a PDF. Yet it doesn't display incorrectly on the computer.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?
