how to delete a citation in word 2007
I need to delete an end note. When I insert one, it automatically changes the number of the end notes, great. But when I delete one it doesnt. Not so great. I have been told to right click on the note but this does nothing. Any suggestions? |

To delete an endnote, click on the endnote reference in the body of the document and delete that.

I tried that and the references dont update. Im deleting reference 17 in my document and so i expect 18 to change into 17, but it doesn't. Any way to solve this?

Are you using 'Track Changes'? If so, the references #s won't update until the relevant changes are accepted/rejected.
