In a long numbered list, the period disappears after 100.

I'm editing a process document that has 206 steps in a numbered list. The first 99 steps have a period after the number, but starting at 100 there's no period:

1. Text
99. Text
100 Text
206 Text

How do I get the periods to show up with the larger numbers?

Never mind, the periods are there. They were just hiding inside a too-narrow table column. Don't ask me why the author put it into a table.
