AFAIK, no \0 switch has ever existed - and I've been using Word since well before Office 95. There is a \O switch for the EQ field, however.

There are three easy ways of achieving a combined 7~ appearance:
1. Type the 7~ then format the character spacing for the 7 as condensed, to 1/2 the point size (e.g. if you're using 12pt text, format the 7 as condensed 6pt);
2. Insert an EQ field, coded as {EQ \O(7,~)}; or
3. Insert an ADVANCE field, coded as {ADVANCE \l #} between the 7 and the ~, with the # equal to to 1/2 the point size (e.g. if you're using 12pt text, use 7 {ADVANCE \l 6}~).

Note: For item 2, depending on your PC's regional settings, you may need to use {EQ \O(7;~)} instead of {EQ \O(7,~)}.
