In Word jargon, these are called objects. Generally, to open them, you need the program that reads the file on your computer (Excel, Acrobat Reader, etc.)

I have excel, acrobat reader, word, etc all on my pc. These individual programs work ok But when I open a word doc that has objects inside...i can double click on them and they won't open. All I get is a highlited box around the object If I try to copy paste a object.. nothing gets pasted. I just reloaded office 2016 but still having the same issue with objects Any idea to try would be grateful. Oh, these objects have worked before....just not sure what changed |

I have emailed these word docs to co-op workers and they are able to open the objects.

What I have discovered:
If I create a word doc, add off, excel, word objects into this document, but not saved, I can open and view these objects But If I "save" the document... then i can not open and view these objects any more I can view the doc, but not the objects |

Resolved
Solution: reloaded office because the repair option would never finish Now, when I open .doc files...they open in protected mode....must click edit So I did. Now objects open! What happens now, all .doc files open in comparability mode and open...no issues Resolved |
