Default Compare document

I need a small help on "compare document" feature of word. I compared two documents yesterday and got the result in few seconds. in fact it was first time i tried it. On left handside I got to see a pane that indicated only changes - something inserted/ something deleted etc and right hand side were the original documents.

Today I tried the same procedure of compare, somehow I am missing to see "that pane" where only changes were highlighted. Although I can arrange and see the original document, revised document and compared document - I wish to see the highlighted changes so I can directly jump on them. Somehow I missing and do not know to get it. Any pointers please ?

thanks in advance
