Perhaps you could explain what you mean by 'the "installed" font'?

Sorry, clicked on file "Open" in Office & Word, but could not find normal template! No option to search.

Did you choose 'All Word templates', 'Word templates', or 'Word macro-enabled templates' as the file type? Note that you'll need to use the first or last of these to access the Normal template.

When I click on 'File' & 'Open',
all I get is:
'Recent',
'Shared with Me'
One Drive
This PC
Add a Place

Under 'New' you can search for all kinds of templates, but NOT for the ones
you listed!

Getting nowhere!

Look in the dropdown in the lower left of the dialogue - just above 'Cancel'...
