How can I set up tab to go back and forth between legacy fields and content control fields in a Word
How can I set up tab to go back and forth between legacy fields and content control fields in a Word Form? Currently, as soon as I tab to a content control field it then will just tab to the other content control fields and skip over the Legacy fields. I have drop down lists that I have to use content controls for because the Legacy drop down list has a limit of 25 and my lists exceed that number. Also, I need a calendar pick date which is only available in content controls. If I switch my text fields (such as social security numbers) to content control text fields, I do not have the option to limit the field to numbers, as well as a specific amount of numbers. This happens when protected by filling in forms as well as using F11 when protected by no change and marking fields for everyone.

You have discovered but one of the reasons many experienced users say to not put legacy form fields and content controls in the same document. It does make them complicated.
Greg Maxey has a utility that you might want to look at. It will convert a document with legacy fields to content controls. Content Control Tools |
