Default Word 2016 changed formatting of my document

Hello, I wrote a document in Word 2016 using a template that was provided to me and has I finished I found out that word compresses images and when I printed the images they were all blurry. So I replaced almost all images in the document after changing the settings to stop compressing them. But now, I realized that it changed the formatting of the template.
One of the changed were that some section's titles that are supposed to be around in the middle of the page went to the top of the page. I managed to fix this by placing a continuous section break but it was still too high when compared to the others that didn't chage, so I increased the spacing to place the title in the right position. This spacing (I don't know why) is different from the spacing of the other titles that didn't changed. So probably this isn't the right way to do it.

Other problem that I have is that, for exemple: now paragraphs that had like 8 lines now have 7 lines. Or for example: lines that had 10 words now have 11 or 12 words. Somehow text is more "compressed", I checked all settings that I know and everything seems fine. I mainly checked the menus about the type of letters (the one with an A when you right click one the text) and the menu about the paragraph (the one with the paragraph symbol and some lines when you right click on the text).
Does anyone understands what changed and whats the problem? Because the difference is not that big and you only notice with you compare with the older version, but I'm afraid that it might be noticeable somewhere else and that I'm not seeing it.

If you used a template that you are not familiar with (someone provided it to you), odds are that you are not familiar with the styles used within that template. The evidence of this is within your description of your problem. Here are some links that will help you in this regard:

With regard to the images becoming blurey when printed, that may have to do with the type and sized of the file inserted into Word (.jpeg, .png et al). IIRC, the .png files all worded well for me.

Hope this helps. Other posters may offer other/better solutions.

It helped me understand styles but it didn't help fixing the problem. For example I can have two titles with the same exact style but they don't get placed in the same position. But the titles are not the main problem at the moment, the main problem is why does the text is more compressed? Why can I fit more words in one line than before?

That may be because of the style(s) in use. For example, if the original text was 12pt of one font and the end text is 10pt in another font...that would be somewhat compressed. (The lower the pt size, the more compressed)

I have not seen any portion of your file so it is really a guess on my part. Can you upload a portion of your file that illustrates your problem (make sure no sensitive data is attached)?

I don't think it's worth it since I have to print it in a few hours.

Thanks anyway.
